The arrival of summer means more than just sunshine (and, yes, also more rain) in Burnaby.

It also means construction projects that will disrupt motor vehicle traffic.

Three projects are slated for Burnaby areas, with one going on right now on the city’s border with Coquitlam.

Until approximately June 19, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction along North Road between Hume Park and Lougheed Highway due to paving work. You can expect delays in this area, especially during rush-hour periods.

In another project, due to sewer construction, single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect along Winston Street, just south of Greenwood Street starting this week and continuing for about six weeks.

In a third project starting in mid-June, westbound traffic only between Rosser Avenue and Willingdon Avenue along Halifax Street, and no left turns from Willingdon onto Halifax in effect for about one month.
