Now open: This new eatery takes over the former last-standing B.C. Swiss Chalet spot

New casual dining Asian restaurant featuring dim sum, barbecueskewers and Hong Kong cafe atmosphere is now open in Burnaby.

Remember the last-standing B.C. Swiss Chalet restaurant located at 3860 Lougheed Hwy. in Burnaby that closed down last August?

A new casual dining Asian restaurant is now taking over that same spot.

Patrons of the old Swiss Chalet spot can now devour delicious dim sum, barbecue skewers and Hong Kong baked dishes and soupy noodles at Happy Valley Food City, which softly opened yesterday, according to their Instagram.

The establishment will serve traditional dim sum during the day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and specialty bbq skewer assortments in their in the evenings from 5 to 11:30 p.m. under their Wonder House banner.

The eatery will also house Hong Kong Cafe from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., bringing the taste of traditional Hong Kong food to the heart of Burnaby.
