Drivers who thought lane closures on Lougheed Highway, just east of Brentwood, were gone forever will be sad to learn they aren’t done yet.

FortisBC says that new work will start up again at theintersection of Lougheed Highway and Springer Avenue on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

One eastbound and one westbound lane will be open on Lougheed Highway; however, Springer Avenue will be closed to north-south traffic between Lougheed Highway and Broadway. This work is to connect the new gas line to the existing system, and is expected to be completed by mid-September.

As for the ongoing work at the Lougheed Highway and Bainbridge Avenue intersection, FortisBC says it will be open on Wednesday, Aug. 7. But as work in the area moves north, Bainbridge Avenue will now be closed between Queensbridge Drive and Broadway. Traffic on Broadway will be unaffected. Businesses in the area are open, with Bainbridge Avenue accessible via the Lougheed Highway intersection. This work is expected to be completed by late August.
