1 Get remembering on Sunday, Nov. 11 with two Remembrance Day parades in the city. The Heights Legion, branch 148, will be holding its annual parade along Hastings Street, starting at 10: 30 a.m.; on the other side of town, the South Burnaby Legion branch 83 will also be hosting its annual Remembrance Day parade. The parade will begin at 5289 Grimmer St. at 10: 15 a.m. For full route information, see page 16. Take the time to pay respect to the veterans who fought for our freedom.

2 Get crafty at the Burnaby Art Council's Deer Lake Craft Festival, running until Nov. 11 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts at 6450 Deer Lake Ave. This festival features crafts, demos and live entertainment. Event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. For more info, go to www.burnabyartscoun cil.org.

3 Get grooving to Grease, playing from Nov. 9 to 24 at the Michael J. Fox Theatre. Put on by the Footlight Theatre Company, this production promises to be a lot of fun. For tickets, go to www.ticketstonight.ca or call 604-684-2787. For more info on Footlight, go to www.footlight.ca.

4 Get shaking to the Elvis Show, playing Nov. 9 and 10 at the Admiral Pub and Grill at 4125 Hastings St. in North Burnaby. Elvis is an iconic rocker and this tribute to his music is sure to have spectators grooving and shaking their hips. For more info, call 604298-7158 or go to www. admiralpub.ca.

5 Get cheering for the Burnaby and New Westminster Icebreaker ringette tournament, to be held from Nov. 9 to 12 at various venues, including the Bill Copeland sports centre and Kensington arena in Burnaby and Moody Park and Queen's Park Arena in New Westminster. The finals on Monday will go as late as 4 p.m.
