Want to hear about hilarious digital dating experiences? Check out Tinder Tales at The Rec Room in Burnaby on Oct. 23.

What's spookier than a visit to the City of the Dead?

Dating life, apparently.

While dating apps have undoubtedly facilitated some happy long-term romances, the flip side of online matchmaking is that many have fallen victim to a popular "scary" trend — ghosting. That is, the drop-dead cutoff of further communication by one of the people in a would-be relationship.

Making light of the daunting dating mishaps, comics from across Canada return in this year's Halloween edition of the "catastrophic hook-up" show.

Tinder Tales, a show where comedians and storytellers share their real, funny, and ridiculous digital dating experiences, was established in 2015 by creator Adelade LaFontaine. Since its debut at a small bar in Toronto, the show has expanded all across Canada with multiple editions, and some shows have been produced in the U.K.

The popular show, according to its website, has sold out at the world-renowned comedy festival Just for Laughs and was named Toronto's top storytelling event in 2017 by BlogTO.

The Halloween themed Tinder Tales: Ghosted Edition will be presented in Rec Room locations in seven cities across Canada on Oct. 23, where comics will riff on their dating mishaps.

The show will be hosted by Nancy Ho (@nancyhohaha), co-host of Laughter on the Drive and Fleabag Comedy. Akeem Hoyte Charles (@akeemgramz) known for shows on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon including A Million Little Things and Batwoman, will close out the night.

The night will include a wide range of food options and drinks, in addition to some local LOLs served by Vancouver's best up-and-coming comedians like Jacob Balshin, Sean McDonnell and Arash Narchi.
