Tiny 'room' with glass walls in shared downtown Vancouver apartment renting for $1,275 per month

This "private room" has room for a cot...and not much else

With the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Vancouver hitting $2,562 this month, those looking for a cheap rental may have some unusual options.

One is this tiny solarium in the city's downtown.

The tiny "private room" showed up on Facebook Marketplace last week; it's on the market for $1,275 right now.

The "room" is essentially (per the pictures) a wire cot in the solarium, which is a small area with three glass walls. One glass wall faces the rest of the apartment with drapes for privacy.

While the description in the ad is limited (it's an unfurnished solarium in an apartment with one roommate) the photos show some of the amenities included in the building: a gym and an indoor pool.

The rent includes amenities and utilities.
