Summer's in full swing and it's everybody's favourite long weekend of the summer: B.C. Day. We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend. For this issue, we have a metal recycling event, Market Monday, a musical night out and two lacrosse events.

1 Get organized and spend B.C. Day at the Burnaby Village Museum. It's a Market Monday with special entertainment, vendors and workshops.

Visitors can meet local crafters and food producers. Old-fashioned games take place in the village meadow, and there is entertainment planned throughout the site, as well. Events go from 11 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. For more information, go to www. burnabyvillage museum.ca.

2 Get cheering for your hometown Burnaby Sr. Lakers as they host the Langley Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Lacrosse Association playoffs. Game 2 is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 3 at 7: 45 p.m. at the Bill Copeland Centre. Tickets are available at the door.

3 Get recycling on Saturday, August 4 for ABC Recycling's Family Fun Day to benefit the Kidney Foundation of Canada. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 8081 Meadow Ave. Bring your family and unwanted metal (pots, sinks, pipes, cars) to ABC Recycling's Family Fun Day. Watch Burnaby firefighters demonstrate the Jaws of Life, and enjoy other free activities. For more information, go to www.abcre cycling.com.

4 Get watching intermediate lacrosse, for some of the best 16-and 17-year-old lacrosse players in the province, at the Bill Copeland Arena. The tournament goes all weekend until Monday afternoon and features both A and B divisions. Best of all, it's free to watch.

5 Get rocking on Sunday, August 5 to the live music showcase of '70s and '80s classic rock with guests Von Tonic. This fundraiser for Covenant House goes Sunday night at the Firefighters' Club, 6515 Bonsor Ave. Tickets are $10.
