We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend. For this issue, we have the annual Scandinavian festival, a yearly bike fair for the kids, a strawberry tea for Seniors' Week, DJ Leanne and Burnaby Lyric Opera at the Shadbolt.

1 Swing by the Shadbolt on Friday night to hear DJ Leanne spinning in the atrium from 7 to 10 p.m. DJ Leanne, also known as the "GirlOnWax" has been DJing since the '90s. She's had clients as diverse as Jennifer Aniston, the Canucks and Goldie Hawn. Her repertoire covers lounge to house to retro to an expansive playlist of dance remixes of all genres. 2 Head to the free community bike fair, on Friday, June 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Second Street Community School, 7502 Second St. This annual fair is organized by Tammy Ozero, a local mom. It's grown over the years and is an annual hit with families and kids. There will be a bike tricks demo show, an obstacle course, bike decoration activities, a bike raffle and more. 3 Check out the 17th annual Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, weekend festivities on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. The festival includes choirs and dance performances, a Viking Village, cultural displays, shopping, vintage Volvo car show, carnival games and much more. This year's theme is Scandinavia and Sports. Enjoy traditional Scandinavian food and relax in the beer garden. A day pass costs $10, and admission is free for kids under 16. There's also free parking. 4 Celebrate Seniors Week with a strawberry tea at Confederation Community Centre on Sunday, June 24, from 1: 30 to 3 p.m. Organizers are promising fabulous entertainment, delicious strawberry desserts and an atmosphere that is second to none. The centre is at 4585 Albert St. Info: 604-297-4812. Cost is $7; be sure to register early.

5 Stop by the Shadbolt Centre for Opera on a Sunday, June 24, afternoon, from 3 to 5 p.m. The show is presented by Burnaby Lyric Opera. For more info, go to www. burnabylyricopera.org . Tickets are $15 online at tickets.shadboltcentre.com. The Shadbolt is at 6450 Deer Lake Ave.

6 Celebrate the 60th anniversary of the South Burnaby Metro Club on Saturday, June 23, with live music from 1: 30 to 9 p.m. at Bonsor Recreation Complex.

The local sports club, which began as a men's club, has been around Burnaby for six decades, and to celebrate, there will be a special opening ceremony and cake cutting at 2 p.m. For entertainment, there will be a choir, a kids' air guitar contest, a magic show, local singer Stephen Scaccia, Rainshadow and much more.

There will also be prizes given out, games, crafts, balloons and food. The South Burnaby Metro Club runs sports program for youth.
