Lordco Auto Parts, which has its headquarters in Port Coquitlam, won the Business of the Year (30+ employees) award.

Entrepreneurs and businesses in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody were honoured last month at a black-tie gala hosted by the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.

The 24th annual Business Excellence Awards were held on April 27 at The Show Theatre at Great Canadian Casino before nearly 400 Chamber members, politicians and others to recognize the people and companies going above and beyond.

A panel of 10 judges sifted through the dozens of nominations and selected three finalists for eight accolades; the recipients were named at the event, which was presented by Douglas College and emceed by radio host and voice actor Kevin Lim.

"To all of our Business Excellence Awards nominees, finalists and recipients, our Chamber is so proud to celebrate you. There is no shortage of exceptional leaders, businesses and community champions here in the Tri-Cities," said Chamber CEO Leslie Courchesne, in a news release.

"Thanks to all of our member businesses, sponsors and supporters, ours is one of the fastest growing chambers of commerce and boards of trade in the province.”

The gala was sponsored in part by the Tri-City News.
