A 23-year-old Vancouver man has been charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of criminal negligence causing death in the Nov. 2010 death of 27-year-old Burnaby man Derek Andrew Crawford.
Crawford died on Nov. 24, 2010 after an incident in the 6200-block of Battiston Street in Vancouver. When paramedics and police arrived on the scene just after 10 p.m., they found two men with Crawford's body. The two men were taken in by police for questioning, but charges weren't laid against Jae Hyuck Richard Kim until Aug. 17. The other man taken in by police has not been charged.
Vancouver police are saying Crawford is not known to police, but Kim has been involved in some property-related crime. Police are also saying that none of the three men are thought to have gang ties.
