At 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Burnaby firefighters were called to 9950 Lyndhurst St. on the Burnaby/Coquitlam border for a fire.

A Burnaby house went up in flames early Sunday morning.

At 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Burnaby firefighters were called to 9950 Lyndhurst St. on the Burnaby/Coquitlam border for a fire.

When crews arrived, they found heavy fire showing from all sides of a two-storey house. A second alarm was immediately called to bring in additional firefighters to help battle the blaze. It's reported that several people escaped the house including two dogs.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the house was completely destroyed.
