Newcomers are invited to learn the basics of container gardening and growing herbs in online workshops hosted by Culture Chats.

Participants are invited to engage with each other and bring nature into their homes through a series of three workshops about growing and cultivating seeds, plant care and food security. Resources will also be shared about community gardening activities in the community.

“Community gardening is a hobby shared across many cultural communities that helps people to bond over their love of plants,” notes a write-up from Culture Chats. “It can help to foster the practice of learning and living ‘everyday multiculturalism.’”

The workshops are set for April 2 and May 8. Participants will receive a Zoom link once they register online.

Culture Chats is a Burnaby not-for-profit association that promotes community engagement through workshops and programs for adults and children – including creative writing programs, multicultural craft workshops and other community projects throughout the year.
