Shocking security video of the punch that killed 22-year-old Michael Page-Vincelli at a North Burnaby Starbucks has been released to the media at the end of the trial of a couple accused in his death.

On Saturday, a B.C. Supreme Court jury found 40-year-old Lawrence Sharpe guilty of manslaughter for the July 12, 2017 punch that knocked Page-Vincelli back, causing him to hit his head on the floor and possibly a counter at the Kensington Square Starbucks on Hastings Street.

His 35-year-old girlfriend, Oldouz Pournouruz was acquitted.

She had been accused of encouraging the punch after she and Page-Vincelli got into a heated argument over a thrown cigarette outside of the Royal Bank next door.

Video evidence played a key role in the case.

During the trial, the jury saw security video from the Royal Bank, Starbucks and from police interviews with Sharpe.

A 19-second clip obtained by the NOW shows Pournouruz come into the Starbucks ahead of Sharpe and point at Page-Vincelli, who can been seen eating a bag of chips.

Sharpe then steps around Pournouruz, strides up to Page-Vincelli and punches him in the face, knocking him backward.

Both Sharpe and Pournouruz can then be seen briefly looking down at Page-Vincelli before quickly leaving the coffee shop.

Page-Vincelli’s family did not oppose the release of the video.

As difficult as it is to watch the final few violent seconds of her son’s life, Steffany Page said the video sheds light on what happened to him.
