We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend. Here are our picks for this weekend:

1 Wine, food and music - what more could you ask for? Don't miss the annual Rotary fundraiser this Saturday, June 9 from 7: 30 to 10 p.m at Lougheed Town Centre. The Rotary Wine, Food and Music Festival is one of the biggest local fundraising events of the year.

There will be 17 wine sponsors presenting their wares, seven food sponsors and the local SFU Chamber Orchestra as musical entertainment.

Money raised goes to B.C. literacy programs, the Down Syndrome Research Foundation and worldwide efforts to eradicate polio. Tickets are $40 and are available at the Lougheed Town Centre customer service desk and through any Burnaby Metrotown Rotary member. Buy 10 or more tickets, and each ticket will cost $35.

2 Head out to Edmonds Saturday, June 9 for a free community barbecue. Organized labour's "Protein for People Project" invites everyone to attend the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a kids' fun zone and information and resources to help families facing challenges in today's economy. The barbecue is at Edmonds Community School, at 7651 18th Ave. For more information, contact Joanna Evenson at 604-868-3610 or go to www.proteinproject.ca.

3 Check out the Westcoast Dollhouse and Miniature Show and Sale, on Sunday June 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gizeh Hall, 3550 Wayburne Dr. The Miniature Club of B.C. will be presenting its annual show and sale. It's an opportunity for the public to see examples of the miniaturists' art. Vignettes and room boxes with scenes at a 1: 12 (one inch equals a foot) scale or smaller will be shown. Some scenes are shown at a much, much smaller scale. Enjoy an afternoon's entertainment or explore a new hobby.

4 Sunday, June 10 marks the fourth annual Russia Day in Burnaby - the largest Russian celebration in B.C., according to its organizers. Head down to the Serbian Centre at 7837 Canada Way. There will be the best Russian food, dancers and vodka. There's a kids' zone open for four hours of fun, a fashion show, art, and a Russian DJ. Last year's event drew 1,500 people from all over the Lower Mainland.

5 Grab some friends and head out to watch Canada's street hockey party outside of Metropolis at Metrotown, all day on June 9 and 10. Hockey Night in Canada's Play On! is a street hockey tournament and outdoor hockey festival, with events happening across Canada. Each event involves closing more than one kilometre of street and setting up separate "street rinks" with games running throughout an entire weekend. The "celebrity" game for Burnaby will be at noon in the parking lot close to Sears. For more info, go to www.playon. ca and click on the link for events in Burnaby.
