We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend. We've moved publication to our Friday editions. This week, we've got some great musical choices, Diwali, a charity fair and a trio of sporting events at SFU.

1 Get rocking on both Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday Nov. 5 for Luv Shak, playing at the Scala Lounge in the Grand Villa Casino, each night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The party never ends at the Grand Villa, because there are gaming and dining options as well.

2 Get dancing on Saturday, Nov. 5 for April Verch at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts at 6450 Deer Lake Ave. The April Verch Band features Canadian fiddler, singer, songwriter and stepdancer April Verch and world-class musicians Clay Ross on guitar and Cody Walters on upright-electric bass and banjo. 3000. 3 Get into Diwali on Sunday, Nov. 6 for the Festival of Lights with Diwali at the Bonsor Recreation Centre. Evening will include traditional Indian performances and a Bhangra performance by Jawani and singer Shivangi Bhayana.

Shivangi Bhayana. 4 Get charitable on Friday, Nov. 4 for the South Burnaby United Church charity sale, running from 4 to 8 p.m. There will lots of great pre-loved items at great prices. For more information, contact Eroca McCready at 604520-1227.

520-1227. 5 Get cheering for a trio of SFU events on Friday, Nov. 4. Start it off with women's basketball at the West gym at 5: 15 p.m. when the Clan host Vancouver Island University.

Then at 7 p.m., go outside to Fox Field and watch some women's soccer as Western Washington is the guest. When you get cold, head back into the West gym and see the Clan men play Columbia Bible College at 7: 30 p.m. in basketball action.
