Three community members have been appointed to the committee that will help to determine what city councillors should be paid.

Patrice Pratt, past chair of Vancity Savings; David Switzer, director of the Heights Merchants Association; and Ed Jaskula, manager of the Hilton Metrotown Hotel, are all on the committee.

The committee reviews and reports on council indemnities and related benefits.

The review is to be conducted every three years.

Recommendations made by the committee become effective after the next council is elected, according to a report from the City of Burnaby manager.
