Little legs went as fast as they could at Hastings Racecourse today in the cutest race you'll ever watch.
Dachshunds and their proud owners were out in force at the track for the annual Wiener Dog Race as part of the ‘Our Dog Days of Summer’ series.
The races kicked off on Saturday afternoon and will end on Sunday, when the Top Dog is crowned in the finals.
In a controversial start, it was hard to see just who won the first race. Some dogs ran forwards, others ran backwards and many went sideways. After watching video footage, Judges ruled the round a tie between number 7, Hoss, and number 5, Nugget.
The two will face off tomorrow to see who will make it through to the next round.
Devin Payne, who cheered Hoss on at the track, while his owner had to work, said he was pretty confident in the little dog’s abilities.
“We’re pretty proud of the little guy,” he said.
“Tomorrow we’re going to take that $1000 prize and then we are going to get Hoss a meat cake to celebrate!”
He said Hoss was pretty tired after the big race.

Kelda Gavina, who has been racing her two dachshunds for three years now, said the day was all about having fun.
"They haven’t successfully crossed the finish line yet, but they have successfully left the start,” she said.
“We laugh a lot, we’re not serious racers by any means, we just come for the fun.
“It is a really great social day for them (the dogs) and they get so much attention – they really love it.”

Winners from the day, Maximillion, Grimace, Code of Arms , Garp, Franky Bruce , Nugget and Hoss will be back for more fun tomorrow.
Not all dogs were lucky enough to make it over the finishing line – but they were all wieners in their owners’ hearts.
If you missed the action today, get down to the track to watch the dogs race in the finals and for the title of Top Dog spot on Sunday.
There's also more Corgi races to look forward to in the coming weeks.
Only dogs racing are allowed at the track.
