Wings floor opponents at B.C. gym provincials

Wings Gymnastics had a strong Level 2 showing at the B.C. provincial championships last weekend in North Vancouver. Hailey Massingham placed second all-around in the Level 2 girls' open, including a third-place finish in floor exercises.

Hailey Massingham placed second all-around in the Level 2 girls' open, including a third-place finish in floor exercises.

Massingham also placed fourth on uneven bars, sixth on balance beam and seventh on the vault.

Emma Crooks was right behind her Wings teammate in third place, including top-five placements on vault, beam and floor. Crooks won an individual silver medal on the beam.

Racquel Slotten was fifth in the Level 2 open all-around, including top scores on both vault and floor.

Wings gymnasts dominated the floor exercises, taking the top-six placements in the discipline.

Raha Dang and Nikki Nummela finished ninth and 10th, respectively in the girls' open group.

Dang had a personal-best second on floor, while Nummela was second overall on bars and sixth on floor.

Savana Fogh also had two good showings in the Level 2 group, placing third on beam and fourth on floor.

In Level 2 novice, Megan Heron won the floor exercises and was eighth on vault.

Emily Lago placed fifth in the girls' Level 3 open all-around.

Lago was second on bars, third on floor and fourth on vault.

Alora Jones had a best eighth on vault in Level 3 novice.

Joanna Wong finished seventh on bars in the Level 4 open category.
