Witnesses are being sought in connection with a serious collision in Burnaby on Christmas Eve.
On Dec. 24 at 12:43 p.m., Burnaby RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Gilmore Avenue and Henning Drive.
Initial investigation has shown that a blue Toyota Corolla was making a left turn onto Henning from Gilmore, according to a Burnaby RCMP news release. At the same time, a white Toyota Tundra was headed south through the intersection and collided with the passenger side of the Corolla.
A 24-year-old female passenger was extracted from the Corolla and taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and impairment is not being considered as a factor in this collision.
Burnaby RCMP’s Traffic Unit are still investigating the cause of the collision and are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
Despite being the holiday season, several vehicles were in the area at the time, as well a number of patrons at a nearby coffee house, restaurants, businesses and Gilmore SkyTrain station. The Burnaby RCMP are asking for any witness who have not yet come forward, and anyone with dash camera video or video of the incident, to contact the Burnaby Traffic Section at 604-646-9999.
