The World of Dance dream is alive for Tsawwassen dancer Emily Sun.

On Tuesday night’s episode of the smash NBC competition dance show, Sun and her GRVMNT team performed for judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and NE-YO in the call-back episode.

There were 10 acts showcased with only four spots up for grabs to advance to the duels – the next round in the competition.

“That is what you need to do every time you come in here,” said Lopez. “You have to realize that it is just going to get harder. We have to put you through this because you just won’t be able to hang with everybody. That was much better. You still have a ways to go…I’m going to be honest with you, but there was so much good stuff in there. You guys should be really, really proud for working that hard until two in the morning. Next time it’s four in the morning.”

Hough said he loved the transitions calling them “so clean and active.”

All three judges were clearly impressed with their performance.

Later in the show after all the acts had competed, the judges brought them back in groups of two or three to learn their fate.

GRVMNT was one of the last three teams brought back into the judges’ studio and with one spot left, Hough delivered the news that GRVMNT was moving on.

Emily’s brother Eric performed with a team called GigaBots, a popping crew from Vancouver in an episode which aired on June 16.

Although the judges liked many aspects of their performance, they just didn’t think it was strong enough to advance to the next round.

Eric competed on season three last year with a popping crew called Minibots.

This is the second time that Emily has competed on the show. She was previously on season two with her dance crew team called Freshh.

World of Dance airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. Pacific on NBC. The duels begin on the next episode on June 30.
