The Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra is offering up its spring concert at the Michael J. Fox Theatre on March 11.

The 2 p.m. concert features 18-year-old pianist Hannah Han, performing Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor, the only piano concerto he completed.

Also included in the program are Rossini's La scala di seta Overture, Dvorak's Romance for Violin and Orchestra, Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 and a new commission from composer-in-residence Alain Mayrand.

The orchestra is led by conductor Ken Hsieh, with assistant conductor Kemuel Wong.

Wong will also offer a pre-concert talk at 1: 30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 apiece, or $20 each for groups of 10 or more.

They're available online at www.vmocanada.com or by calling 604-876-9397.

The Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra Society is dedicated to the artistic, personal and professional development of young musicians, and its goal is to create opportunities for talented young musicians to perform with the mentorship of seasoned professionals for live audiences.
