Simon Fraser University men's soccer released its 2013 Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule.

In addition to the 14-game conference schedule, the Clan will play four non-conference games - two in California and two at home on Terry Fox Field.

SFU enters the upcoming season looking for their fourth straight Great Northwest title since entering the conference in 2010.

Last season, in SFU's first season of NCAA post-season eligibility, the Clan won their first NCAA West region title, and made it all the way to the final four at the Division II national championship post-season.

The Clan will start 2013 on the road with a pair of in-region games against two teams in California, one from the California Collegiate Athletics Association and one from the PacWest.

The season opener will see SFU return to the site of last season's second-round NCAA tournament victory, when they visit the Cal State East Bay Pioneers in Hayward, California on Sept. 5.

SFU will then face the Holy Names Hawks in San Francisco, on Sept. 7.

The Clan will return home the next weekend to finish the non-conference portion of their schedule at Terry Fox Field, hosting Hawaii Pacific for the second year in a row on Sept. 12. before taking on Trinity Lutheran Eagles on Sept. 14.

The conference schedule will start on the road, when SFU travels to Billings, Montana and Nampa, Idaho on Sept. 19 and 21, respectively, to face Montana State Billings Yellowjackets and the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders.

SFU's Great Northwest home opener goes the following week on Sept. 26, when the conference's newest affiliate member - South Dakota School of Mines - visits Terry Fox Field.

A week later, the Clan will renew their rivalry with the Seattle Pacific Falcons on Oct. 3 in Seattle. The Falcons visit Terry Fox Field on Nov. in the second last game of the season for SFU.

This year's border battle against the Western Washington Vikings starts at Terry Fox Field on Oct. 12 and ends in the regular season finale in Bellingham on Nov. 9.

It is the third year in a row that the Clan have concluded their conference schedule against the Vikings.
