Megan Ellis of Burnaby helped Portland State to a No. 2 seeding heading into NCAA Division I Big Sky conference playoffs.

Ellis recorded a teamhigh 14 kills and added 13 of the Vikings' combined 70 digs in a three-set win over third-place Sacramento State on Nov. 19.

PSU's 25-19, 25-22, 26-24 win over Sacramento State gave the Vikings second place in the conference.

Portland State will face Sacramento State again in the first round of tournament play of Friday.

Earlier in the week, Ellis finished with a double-double following a 3-1 victory over Eastern Washington that clinched a spot for the Vikings in the conference final. The Alpha Secondary grade had a game-high 17 kills, while adding 12 digs for PSU.

Ellis, a junior, finished second overall in the conference with 373 kills this season, averaging 3.52 winners per set.

Portland State finished second in the Big Sky in blocks, kills, assists, hitting percentage and opponent's hitting percentage.
