In the bantam A battle of Burnaby, this one was a stalemate.
The Burnaby Bulldogs pulled its goalie and cashed in for the equalizer with 1:06 left in regulation for a 3-3 draw with the rival Burnaby Winter Club Bruins on Saturday.
Trailing 2-0, the Bulldogs got goals in the third from Stefan Deretic, with his team-leading 25th of the season, and Andrew Casellato to pull even. But the Bruins retook the lead with 2:32 left on the clock.
That’s when Nicolas Barba buried his 22nd goal of the season to earn the tie, on a set-up from captain Marcus Jantzen.
Playing strong games for the minor association Bulldogs were Sean Coventry and Kobe Kong, who each registered two assists.
Scoring for the Winter Club were Noah Gibbons, Antonio Conte and Tanner Terness, while Manveer Bhachu and Brandon Halkett picked up assists.
