B.C.'s provincial youth basketball teams all came home with medals.
The provincial boys' and girls' under-15 and -17 teams all earned bronze medals at their respective national championship venues on Aug. 11.
St. Thomas More Collegiate's Kamila Wojciechowski of Burnaby recorded three rebounds in B.C.'s 69-38 win over Quebec in the u-17 girls' bronze-medal final in Fredericton, N.B. Ontario took the gold medal with a 6648 victory over Nova Scotia.
Another STM product, Gabrielle Laguerta of Burnaby, contributed two points and two boards in B.C.'s 58-47 victory over Ontario in the girls' u-15 consolation final.
Quebec defeated Manitoba 77-56 to win the gold medal.
In Sherbrooke, Que., B.C.'s u-15 and -17 boys also won bronze, defeating Manitoba 65-51 and Quebec 74-73, respectively. Ontario won gold in both age divisions.
Earlier in the month, B.C. teams won gold at the u-16 Western Canadian basketball championships in Edmonton.
Martin Bogajev of Burnaby and STM's Jalen Jana helped B.C. take gold with a 103-64 win over Manitoba.
The u-16 girls, including Domunique Booker of New Westminster and Peitra Gant of Burnaby, also shared gold following a narrow 64-61 victory over Saskatchewan in the Western final.
