The Canadian Junior Golf Association announced the hiring of British Columbia PGA professional Brad Ewart as the new CJGA tournament director for the province on Monday.

Ewert will begin immediately and oversee the B.C. event operations and continue to grow on the association's six-stage competitive development program for B.C.'s junior golfers.

Ewert, a father of two, has been involved in the golf industry in B.C. for more than 25 years. He has held many positions in the golf industry, including teaching professional for the City of Burnaby, director/communication of Optimist Junior Linkster Golf as well as the executive producer and host of the television show The Golf Show Great Golf Destinations.

Ewart was also a former professional on the Asian Tour from 1990 to1991 and competitive amateur player in British Columbia.

Ewert is an advocate of junior golf and wants to explore ways to help foster the game he is so passionate about in his province.

"The CJGA is widely recognized as one of the leading junior golf organizations in the game," said Ewart in an association press release. "It's exciting to be part of the CJGA team and have a chance to make a positive impact on Canadian Junior Golf."

"Brad has shown his passion for the game and junior golf through his involvement with the Optimist Junior Linkster Tour. His experience in the golf industry, both on the playing side and the administrative side, Brad brings a great deal of knowledge and expertise to our program in the province of British Columbia," said Brad Parkins, Chief Operations Officer of the CJGA. "We are thrilled to have Brad join our team and are excited for our membership in the province who will benefit directly from his wealth of knowledge of the game."
