B.C. won the Alumni Cup Canada's under-16 national field lacrosse title for the second consecutive year.
The provincial team, including Jordan McKenzie, Connor Robinson, Mitchell Stokes and Tyler Vogrig of New Westminster, defeated Team Ontario 14-8 in the gold-medal final in Oshawa, Ont. on Sunday.
Vogrig and Stokes scored two goals and one goal, respectively, in the championship final, while New West junior A box player Chase Malcolm led all scorers with four markers, including an unassisted game-winner in the third quarter.
Robinson led the New West contingent with seven goals and three assists in five games.
In the u-19 First Nations Cup final, Ontario blanked Saskatchewan 22-0 to win the title for a fourth consecutive year.
B.C., with Burnaby's Tyler Buchan in the lineup, won the bronze medal following a 29-3 victory over Alberta in the consolation final.
Buchan helped lead B.C. to the easy victory, scoring five goals and assisting on a sixth in the Sunday win. Buchan finished the competition with seven goals.
