Boarder wins World Cup

BCIT grad Patrick Switzer is the International Gravity Sports Association World Cup champion in downhill skateboarding. Switzer garnered 2,216.85 points in his best five races to pip runner-up Douglas Silva of Brazil by nearly 200 points.

The Burnaby longboarder won a record four consecutive World Cup races this season, beginning with a first-place finish at the Kozakov Challenge in the Czech Republic in July. Switzer also won in Italy, Germany and Calgary.
