Burnaby and New Westminster athletes shared in B.C. Athletics awards.
Burnaby Central Secondary runner Sophia Stevenson was named a midget girls' distance athlete of the year, while New Westminster Secondary's Raquel Tjernagel was also singled out in the sprints category.
Burnaby Edmonds sprinter, Norm Lesage, won the 2012 masters male track and field athlete award, while Don Steen earned a high performance coaching excellence citation.
Burnaby javelin thrower, Curtis Moss, who qual-idfied for the Olympic Games in London earlier this year, was also named a nominee in the senior male track and field athlete of the year category.
St. Thomas More student Sebastian Adugalski was nominated in the youth male divisioin.
