Senior forward Anna Carolsfeld and junior guard Kristina Collins were named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference academic all-star team on Wednesday.
Carolsfeld and Collins join 29 other women in the conference on the scholar-athlete squad.
Carolsfeld has a 4.11 grade point average in health sciences in the Canadian system which awards up to a 4.33 GPA. while Emily Lashua of Saint Martin's University has the second highest GPA in the conference at 3.98 in the American system that awards a maximum GPA of 4.
Collins, who is majoring in biomedical physiology, made the team with a 3.77 GPA. Both players are on the team for the second consecutive year.
To be eligible, student-athletes must earn a letter, have a minimum grade point average of 3.20, and be completing at least their second year of eligibility at the university.
The SFU women's basketball team is on the road this weekend, starting with a game against Montana State University-Billings on Thursday night at 7 p.m., before visiting Seattle Pacific University on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Next week, the SFU women will head to Lacey, Washington for the Great North conference playoff tournament which will begin on Thursday, March 1.
