The Burnaby Bowl may be a distant memory, but it certainly felt that way at Burnaby Lake-West on Friday night.

St. Thomas More no longer plays Burnaby Central in football, but the Vancouver-based Notre Dame Jugglers have a fair complement of Burnaby players, as many of their feeder schools are in North Burnaby.

On Friday, it was the South Burnaby Knights who were victorious, as they led the golden arm of quarterback Chase Malcolm and the nimble feet of Noah Usherwood and Jalen Jana to victory.

Malcolm passed for 166 yards and two touchdowns, both to wideout Gio Trasolini, and also rushed for another score. Noah Usherwood, injured for last week's pivotal match-up against Vancouver College, returned and rushed for 76 yards and one score, while shifty Jalen Jana totalled 107 rushing yards and the other Knights' touchdown.

Defensively, the Knights were led by rush end Dante Vigini, who had 10 tackles and three sacks. Teammate Javier Tudela had 11 tackles, including five for losses, while Nico Repole had nine tackles and two sacks.

The number 4-ranked Knights will need everything clicking again this Friday when they travel to Victoria to play the top-ranked and defending provincial champion Mt. Douglas Rams.
