Julian Monks won two medals in solo events, taking the gold in the 50-metre breaststroke in a winning time of 28.60 seconds. He also won a bronze in the 100 breast.

Dmitar Ivanov snatched a pair of silver-medal finishes in the 100- and 200-m backstroke events.

Ivanov swam the 100m in 56.10 seconds and the 200m in 2:00.19, both new SFU records.

Ivanov and Monks earned another medal in the 400m medley relay, teaming up with Greg Laughlin and Adam Kautz for a silver medal.

Completing the medal haul for SFU was the 400m freestyle relay team of Kautz, Laughlin, Kevin Nickerson and Ben Berg, who earned a bronze medal with a time of 3:26.88.

While the women's team did not earn any medals four swimmers did reach the finals in eight events, while both the medley relay and freestyle relay teams also reached the finals.

Grace Ni and Carmen Nam each earned a spot in three final races, while the 400m relay team of Ni, Katie McEvoy, Alexandria Schofield and Kristine Lawson finished just out of the medals in fourth place.

The Clan swimmers will be back in action on March 11 at the British Columbia Senior Championships in Vancouver.
