Simon Fraser University improved to 7-1 in Great Northwest conference play with a back-to-back wins at home over a pair of middle-table women's basketball teams.
The Clan defeated fourth-place Montana State Billings 89-58 on Jan. 17 before knocking off Seattle Pacific University 83-63 on Saturday.
New Westminster's Kia Van Laare scored 13 points, including a perfect four-for-four from beyond the arc, in Saturday's win over 4-4 SPU.
Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe led all scorers with 20 points for he Clan. Erin Chambers and Kristina Collins also added 15 an 14 points, respectively.
Earlier in the week, SFU moved into second place in the conference with the win over Billings.
Collins garnered a double-double for the Clan, scoring 16 points and adding 10 assists. Raincock-Ekunwe recorded her 51st career double with 11 points and 10 boards, all coming in the first half of play. Carla Wyman also scored in double figures, with 10 points.
"I think it's key to gain our confidence back after transitioning from having a loss and dealing with the mistakes (of last week)," said Collins in an SFU press release. "We came out and showed we can be a confident team that plays together. Everyone contributed and it feels really good to come out in the second half of the season like that."
Trailing by a single point with less than 10 minutes left in the first half, SFU quieted Montana State with a 10-0 run.
The Clan carried that momentum into the second half, expanding its lead to 19 points in the first five minutes of frame.
SFU outscored the visitors 45-26 in the second half.
The Clan takes on third-place Northwest Nazarene on Thursday in Nampa, Idaho.
