Burnaby figure skaters took home two of the three youth promise awards at the 28th annual B.C. section awards dinner at Delta Burnaby Hotel.
Eric Liu, the novice boy's provincial champion and national silver medalist, skated away with the male award, while also accepting the Skate Canada competitive athlete award.
Ice dancers Danielle Wu and Spencer Soo, this year's Canadian novice champions, were the winners of the youth promise award for dance for a second consecutive year.
Megan Wing and Aaron Lowe coached six separate teams to ice dance medals at this year's nationals, including a clean sweep of the novice podium led by Wu and Soo.
The former Olympians also coached Burnaby's ZhaoKai Pang and partner Madeline Edwards to gold in the junior dance at the nationals.
Rachel Pettitt of Whitehorse won the female youth promise award.
Beth Crane of the B.C. Centre of Excellence won the Skate Canada officials award of excellence. Vanessa Hunter won the section officials award.
Sally Rehorick from the centre of excellence was the section volunteer award winner.
