Burnaby ice dancers came away with podium finishes at the Lake Placid figure skating championships last week.
Moscrop high school grad Nicole Orford and partner Thomas Williams won the Group A senior free dance over Lynn Kriengkrairut and Logan Giulietti-Schmitt of the United States with a 78.77 score.
The B.C. Centre of Excellence pair also placed second in the Group B short dance to Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates following a 50.57 score.
Centre of excellence junior dance teams also did well at the Lake Placid dance competition.
Madeline Edwards and Burnaby's Zhao Kai Pang won the Group B junior free dance with a total score of 70.19 over Caelen Dalmer of Burnaby and her partner Shane Firus. Timothy Lum of Burnaby and partner Noa Bruser placed fourth B final.
In the junior short dance competition, Pang and Edwards finished second behind a pair from Detroit in Group A, while Lum and Bruser won the Group B short program. Dalmer and Firus placed third in the B short dance.
