Burnaby Lake hosts regional rugby champs

There was spirited action at BLSC-East last week as Burnaby hosted the B.C. Rugby provincial regional u-14 to u-16 boys' and girls' championships.

Burnaby Lake Sports Complex-East will be the pitch to be for the final installment of the B.C. Rugby provincial regional age group championships.

Two full days of non-stop rugby will take place at the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club fields this weekend with under-17 men's finals and a full roster of u-18 men's and women's teams.

Play gets underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday and at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, with a championship final u-18 men's matchup on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

At last week's u-14 to u-16 championships, Fraser Valley won the u-16 girls' final 17-15 over Vancouver North.

Vancouver North took the u-15 boys' title, while Vancouver East topped the boys' u-14 group.

Vancouver North also won the u-16 boys' final, defeating Vancouver South by a converted try 17-10.
