Burnaby men fast at 2012 Sun Run

Dylan Gant was the fastest finisher from Burnaby at the annual Vancouver Sun Run on Sunday. The Burnaby Central and Simon Fraser University grad finished 18th overall in a time of 32: 24 in the 10kilometre run.

Oliver Utting of Burnaby finished right behind Gant in 19th place.

A third city runner Colin Wallace finished just 14 seconds behind in 24th place among the elite male finishers. Lee Koffler of Burnaby was 44th overall in a time of 33.42.

Riaan Naude, Burnaby South grad Travis Fraser, Brendan Brazier and Yubai Liu also finished among the top 100 men.

University of Regina student Kelly Wiebe won the 10km race in a time of 29: 13.

Kim McMullen was the top female finisher from Burnaby, placing 46th among the elite women with a 39.57 clocking.

Tamara Harris of New Westminster rounded out the top 100, finishing 82nd in the women's division.

Port Moody's Natasha Fraser was the fastest women in 34: 13.

Burnaby runners also had a presence in many age groupings.

Richard Wang was 10th in the schoolboy division, while Stefan Milosevic was seventh in the 16 to 18 category.

George Sojka finished seventh in the over-60 grouping, while Jake Matterdom was fourth among over-65 men.

Wolfgang Hauser and Luciano Toffolon also finished in the top 10 among male runners over 75.

In the women's division, Natasha Louie was ninth in the schoolgirl race.

Sue Dickson placed third and Stephanie Lord was 10th in the women's 55 to 59 category.

Giselle Albright came fourth among over-70 women, while Violet Holmes was third in the over-75 division.
