The Burnaby Minor  Midget A2 team ended 2013 with a bronze medal following a 5-4 shootout win over Langley A2 at the annual Herb House hockey tournament in New Westminster.

Trailing 4-1 heading into the final period, Burnaby scored three unanswered goals to send the consolation final into extra time.

Dante Madallozzo sparked the comeback with an unassisted tally.

Kai Piaseczny closed the deficit to a single goal on a set up by team captain Omar Dhanani and Chris Pan.

Pan got the game-tying marker with his second goal of the game from Piaseczny and Daniel Bruni.

Dhanani scored the game-winning goal in the shootout. Scott Wong got the win in goal, blanking the Langley shooters in the penalty shot period.

Burnaby tied its first game, lost its second by one goal, and then won the next two matchups by a similar one-goal scoreline to advance to the semifinals.

Although not known as a strong third-period team, the Burnaby boys poured on the adrenaline and powered through to score three goals in the third, while keeping Langley off the scoresheet. The tied game carried over to 10 minutes of scoreless overtime.
