Bryan Yu led the Burnaby Mountain Mantas with four gold medals as the North Burnaby swim club put in final preparations for the Simon Fraser regional championships to be held in Burnaby this weekend.
The Division 4 swimmer won the boys' 50-metre butterfly, 100m backstroke and breaststroke and 200m individual medley at the annual Coquitlam Sharks A/B Meet on July 22.
Ethan Xue also medalled well in Div. 5 boys' competition, winning the 100m fly and back, while placing second in the 100m breast and 50m freestyle.
Harvey Lee and Derek Shi also won four medals in their respective divisions.
Lee was first in the Div. 4 boys' 100m free and silver in the 20m fly, 100m breast and 200m IM.
Shi won the Div. 2 boys' 100m IM and placed runner-up in the 50m fly, back and breast.
Div. 5 swimmer, Kenneth Ng, won the 100m breast and finished third in the 100m fly and 50 and 100m free.
Deryck-James Tsang won the Div. 2 boys' 50m fly and was second in the 100m free.
Jacky Tung also won a gold in the Div. 6 50m free.
Elton Lai medalled in three Div. 3 races, while Manta teammate Seam Li had a pair of medals in Div. 2.
Shawn Huang and Roy Lin also earned medals for the Mantas at the Coquitlam meet.
The Simon Fraser regional swim meet will be held all day Aug. 4 and 5 in Burnaby at the Central Park pool.
