The Burnaby Mountain Mantas swim club placed fifth overall at the B.C. Summer Swimming provincial championships in Coquitam.
The small North Burnaby club won a total of 32 medals, including 13 individual and three relay gold medals, to top all Simon Fraser region clubs at the three-day meet at Spani Pool last week.
The Mantas garnered 1,229 total points, while club rival Burnaby Barracudas finished in 12th spot overall with 854.50 points.
Hannah Cui, Harvey Lee and all-year swimmer May Li led the medal parade for the Mantas.
Lee won the Division 4 boys with wins in the 50-metre butterfly and 50 and 100m freestyle, while also placing runner-up in the 200m individual medley.
Cui also had four solid swims in Div. 2, winning both the 50 and 100m free, while placing third in the 50m fly and fourth in the 100m IM.
Li also earned four medals in the Category 2 group, winning the 50m fly and 100m backstroke and placing second in the 100m fly and 200m IM.
Sayla Briggs also won a pair of gold in the girls' 50m free and breaststroke Div. 4 races.
David Hibberd dominated the Div. 8 freestyle finals, taking first place in both the 50 and 100m sprints.
Bryan Yu and Kevin Nickerson added three runner-up medals apiece to the Manta medal haul.
Yu won silver in the Div. 5 boys 50 and 100m fly and 200m IM, while Nickerson finished behind Hibberd in freestyle and also picked a third medal in the 100m fly.
Hibberd and Nickerson also shared in relay gold with clubmates Sean Nugent and Ciaran McDonnell in both the 200m free and medley races.
Ethan Xue won individual gold in the Div. 5 boys' 50m free and silver in the 100m back.
Xue, Yu, Lee and Colin Lai teamed up for gold in both the 200m free and medley relays.
Vincent Chung won two silver medals in Div. 7, taking second place in the 50 and 100m fly. Lauren Sartori won a bronze in the Div. 4 girls' 100m breast.
White Rock finished first ahead of Nanaimo and runner-up Vancouver clubs.
