Burnaby Mountain Secondary named Justin Son its male athlete for the month of December.
Son showed incredible leadership on the Grade 9 juvenile boys’ basketball team, setting an example of responsibility, respect and excellence in all aspects of his play and manner on and off the court.
Son shows up every day prepared to get better and to help his teammates do the same, and has been an important part of the early success of the team this season.
Jacey Bailey was named Mountain’s top athlete for December.
The Grade 10 Lions player leads the senior girls’ basketball team in points, rebounds and steals.
At the Telus Classic tournament, Bailey scored 21 points against No. 1-ranked Brookswood and was also named an all-star at the Mountain tournament prior to the winter break.
Coach of the month went to basketball coach Mr. Sacilotto.
