On the strength of Erika Lieu's two goals, the Burnaby North Vikings surged past New Westminster's Team Orange last week 4-1 in Burnaby-New West high school senior girls soccer action.

Lieu, a Grade 8 midfielder, proved to be a huge force for the Vikings, who've been hampered by a number of injuries to start the season. With a starting centre back and midfielder both out due to injury, the addition of young skilled players has kept the team in the hunt, with a 1-1 record to date. The squad's roster are all Grade 11 and younger.
