Alan Tolusso of Burnaby is off to a torrid start on the Zone 4 junior golf tour.

The St. Thomas More Collegiate student placed second at the Vancouver Club junior invitational last weekend following a threeman playoff.

Tolusso, who has seven top-10 finishes in seven Zone 4 junior matches so far this season, tied atop the leaderboard with Roy Kang of North Vancouver and playoff winner Trevor Yu of Vancouver.

All three boys shot even-par 72s in the 18-hole match played last Saturday. Yu won the playoff.

Alex Françis of Burnaby was a stroke behind in a three-way tie for fourth place at 73.

The runner-up finish was Tolusso's fourth top-three placing of the season, which included wins in the opening match at the Capilano Golf and Country Club and last week in Squamish.

Tolusso also finished third at the Point Grey invite last month. He was fourth at the Shaughnessy junior on May 5.

Tolusso currently tops the TaylorMade junior tour with a 72.43 scoring average, just plus0.57 over par.

The junior tour continues this weekend with a pair of stops at Seymour in North Vancouver on Saturday followed by the Beach Grove junior in Delta on Sunday.

The junior tour winds up in Richmond on June 2 with an 18hole event at Mayfair Lakes.

The Zone 4 junior championship follows with a two-day final, beginning June 13 in Squamish and finishing up on June 17 at Quilchena.
