Burnaby to host B.C. high school AA and AAA soccer championships

Burnaby/New Westminster schools will be involved in both the AA and AAA provincial boys' soccer championships taking place at Burnaby Lake-West next week.

Burnaby/New Westminster schools will be involved in both the AA and AAA provincial boys' soccer championships taking place at Burnaby Lake-West next week.

The Cariboo Hill Chargers, runner-up in district league play this season, are in a pool with Kwalikum, David Thompson and Sands for the B.C. high school AA championships, which run from Monday, Nov. 21 to Wednesday.

Crossover matches will be played on the afternoon of Nov. 22, with final placement games for all teams happening on Wednesday. The gold-medal final is slated for noon on Nov. 23.

Burnaby playoff champion Burnaby South Rebels will be up against South Delta, North Peace and McMath in AAA boys' pool play, beginning Thursday, Nov. 24.

Following the same format as AA, crossover matches will be played the pool schedule on the Friday.

Final matches will be held Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The championship final is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
