Victor Montagliani isn’t afraid of a big job.
The Burnaby native threw his hat in the ring officially Monday for the president of CONCACAF, the governing body that oversees soccer in North and Central America and the Caribbean.
The past three presidents have fallen under scrutiny in the ongoing corruption scandal at FIFA.

"The events have sullied our sport and badly undermined the public’s trust in football’s governing bodies," he wrote on the U.S. Justice Department's investigation into corruption and bribery.
“If football is deserving of the devotion of such a large swath of the world’s population, then it needs to be governed in a principled and professional way that, above all else, protects the integrity of the game.”

Montagliani, current president of the Canadian Soccer Association, was elected as CSA president in 2012. He has been a member of the Canadian soccer executive since 2005.
