Much like Al Bundy scoring a historic four touchdowns for Polk High on the television show Married With Children, SFU's Bo Palmer equalled the feat on Saturday afternoon at Fox Field.
Palmer ran for 186 yards and scores from 12, five and 67 yards to go with 113 receiving yards and his fourth touchdown from 75 yards out to lead the Clan to a 66-38 win over Azusa Pacific on a brilliant sunny, Saturday afternoon.
Palmer's heroics were complemented by the 378 passing yards and four touchdown passes from quarterback Trey Wheeler, 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns from Lemar Durant and 12 receptions for 95 yards from Bobby Pospischil.
Wheeler was only stopped from topping 400 yards when Clan coach Dave Johnson called off the dogs in the fourth quarter and had backup Ryan Blum enter the game. Blum ran for a nine-yard touchdown in mop-up duty.
Wheeler would finish 32-for-47 and has passed for almost 1,100 yards in his last three games.
Other Clan scores came from Jemal Kett, Kyle Miller on a 32-yard interception return and two field goals from Tiernan Docherty.
Important defensive plays were made by New Westminster Hyacks alumni Casey Chin and North Vancouver natives Mitchell Barnett and Dylan Roper.
With the win, the Clan improve their Great Northwest Athletic Conference record to 2-3 and 3-3 overall on the season.
The Clan had trouble containing Azusa Pacific's quarterback, Nick Owens, who also had four touchdowns to go with 425 passing yards.
The Clan are back in action this Saturday in Ellensberg, Washington against Central Washington, who easily handled the Clan earlier this year at Fox Field.
