Canada earned silver medals in both the men's and women's divisions at the Pan American junior field hockey championships for the first time in more than a decade.
The women finished second behind Argentina, earning their best finish since 1997 at the junior Pan Ams in Quadalajara, Mexico last month.
The junior men, including Burnaby's Ali Currimbhoy and Gabriel Ho-Garcia, also earned silver medals for only the second time since 1985.
Both teams qualified for the Junior World Cup to be played next year.
The men last qualified for the worlds back in 2001.
The women lost 2-1 to Argentina in the final, while the Canadian men also narrowly lost 3-2 to the South American powerhouse, which has not lost a Pan Am match in almost 35 years.
Canada gave up just two goals in the leadup to the gold-medal final, knocking off Chile 8-1 to qualify for the worlds and advance to the championship game.
New Westminster brothers Matthew and Stephen Bissett both scored single markers in the one-sided semifinal.
Ho-Garcia and Matthew Bissett also tallied in Canada's 3-1 victory over host Mexico, which clinched top spot for the Canucks in preliminary pool play.
Canada also defeated Uruguay and Puerto Rico to get through the opening round without a goal scored against them.
Brenden Bissett, the younger of the three brothers on the junior nats, scored in Canada's 6-0 win over Uruguay.
Ho-Garcia opened the tournament with a pair of counters in a resounding 12-0 thrashing over Puerto Rico. Matthew and Brenden Bissett also tallied.
The Canadian men will compete at the junior World Cup to be held in India in December 2013.
