Central Park champ takes 11th B.C. title

Central Park club's Elyse Brunelle won her 11th B.C. women's title in horseshoe pitching in Cloverdale on Saturday. Brunelle bettered the women's Class A field, going undefeated in 10 matches to win her sixth consecutive provincial title.

Brunelle bettered the women's Class A field, going undefeated in 10 matches to win her sixth consecutive provincial title.

Brunelle has won 11 of the last 12 provincial titles. Her only loss at the provincials since 2001 was to Doreen Muloin of Winfield in 2006.

Central Park clubmate Alan Cummings also won his division, taking top spot in the men's Class B, edging runner-up Sante Michielin of Victoria with one more win.

Cummings, with a 9-1 record, split his two-game head-to-head matchup with Michielin.

Scott O'Neil of Central Park placed second in the men's C division, finishing with a record of 7-3 behind winner Don Cameron of Cloverdale.

Jack Wright of Central Park was fourth in the men's Class D final.
