Third time proved no luckier than the first two for the Simon Fraser University club hockey team.
The Clan club lost its third consecutive game in as many tries in the season series against first-place Selkirk College in B.C. Intercollegiate hockey last weekend.
SFU lost 5-2 at the Castlegar rec centre on Saturday after posting a 4-3 win against Eastern Washington University just the night before.
Simon Fraser led 21 after the first period on power play goals from Nick Sandor and Kody Dhaliwal.
But Selkirk, which has lost just once in 17 starts this season, scored four times in the final 20 minutes, including back-to-back markers less than 30 seconds apart by Jordan Wood.
Wood, the league scoring leader with 19 goals and 37 points, also tallied a shorthanded marker into an empty net in the final seconds of the game to clinch the game's first star.
SFU goalie Graeme Gordon was named the second star.
The two teams will meet at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre for a fourth and final time this season later this month.
SFU will host Selkirk College in Burnaby on Feb. 23 at its usual 7 p.m. start.
On Friday, Colton Graf was the game's first star, tallying the eventual game-winning goal on the power play that gave the Burnaby visitors a 4-1 lead late in the middle period.
Trevor Milner and Sandor, the third star, both scored to give the Clan a 2-0 lead after the opening period.
Evan Kurylo backstopped the win for the Clan with 27 saves.
The win kept the 13-40-1 Clan in second place in the six-team league, five points behind first-place Selkirk College.
This Saturday, SFU plays host to Eastern Washington at the Copeland centre. Game time is 7 p.m.
