The Simon Fraser University men's wrestling team defeated the Pacific University Boxers 25-14 in the West Gym on Sunday.
The meet was the Clan's only home dual of the season and their last tune up prior to the NCAA Regional Championship which begins Friday. Clan wrestlers won six of the nine weight classes.
"It was a good performance," said head coach Justin Abdou. "They're a team we had a close match with last time. We knew there were a few matches that we should win and then there were a few swing matches and those swing guys really answered the bell today."
Skylor Davis, who normally wrestles at 125-pounds wrestled up a weight class at 133-pounds and was victorious, defeating Pacific's Eric Harder by major decision.
Alex Stemer got the Clan's next win at 149-pounds, defeating William Patrick with a pin.
Josh Punzo of Burnaby followed with a win at 157-pounds, defeating the Boxers' Dillon Ford by decision.
SFU dropped the next match but at 174-pounds, Cody Coombes of Burnaby got the Clan back in the win column, defeating Michael Tyner by decision.
After another loss, the Clan won their final two matches as Manvir Sahota won by decision at 197-pounds and Sunny Dhinsa won convincingly by pin at 285-pounds.
Prior to the beginning of the meet, the Clan's Ryan Yewchin won an exhibition match against Pacific's Nik Streng.
"We're going to prepare now for our first NCAA regional championship. We have a good idea of what we're in for. We've seen a lot of the good teams already. We think we can get a few guys through to the national tournament, but our athletes are going to have to wrestle well next weekend," said Abdou.
The NCAA regional championship will be held in Chadron, Nebraska on Friday.
